Thanks for visiting The Respectful Traveler® website. While the set up looks the same the information is totally different and no longer written by an outsourced copywriter. The words are my own because this is my story, my passion and my dream.

Hope you connect with something here.

Its humbling to see how conversations can grow connections

Hey there, I’m Christianna.

she/They

What makes a traveler? Do you believe someone has to leave their own country to be a traveler? I do not. Traveler and Travel are two different things. Travel is a privilege and has always been inequitable. One must have money to travel and that’s just not possible for many.

To be a traveler though, is universal. Traveler is defined as one who travels or goes on a journey. We are all travelers in our imagination. LaVar Burton taught GenX and Millenial kids that with a book you can go anywhere. The information age has shown us even more. In seconds, we can search up aerial drone images of Cinque Terre in Italy that beat anything we could see on a tour and cost nothing.

You might be thinking, I am really bad at advertising travel.

Sure, that’s fair. To be honest, I’m not trying to sell you travel.

The goal here is for Travelers to find connection, knowledge, and empowerment.

Even if you never leave your couch.

Spots I can’t get enough of

Puerto rico

I lived on the island for 3 years and part of it is still in my heart (I cried when we landed this past June). My hope is to create business connections so travelers can experience the true Puerto Rico — not just a large golf resort.

Portugal

I was most pleasantly surprised at how healthy the food in Lisboa was: grilled fish, veggies and potatoes. Food is the way to my heart after all. My hope is to return very soon and possibly move there someday.

Europe

I’m thrilled to be visiting Germany, Italy, Croatia, and Slovenia next May with my 18 year old son. We’ll be exploring cities, looking at colleges, and learning about history, culture, and food — all to maximize his comfort with travel as a young man with Autism.
